I graduated from the Animal Health Technician program at Seneca College in 1989, after first completing the Animal Care program at Sheridan College. Since then, I’ve been working in the veterinary field for over 36 years. Early in my career, I also spent six years at a non-profit shelter in New Brunswick.
I chose the veterinary field because I have always loved animals from a very young age. I enjoy learning how to care for them and how to help heal them when they are unwell. I am especially interested in nursing care of patients and laboratory testing, to help find out what the issues are and make the patient feel better. What I love most about my job is working as part of a team to ensure patients have low-stress visits while making their owners feel like part of our clinic family. I also really enjoy building lasting relationships with pets and their families, watching that trust grow over the years.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, reading, swimming, and motorcycling. I am married with two adult children and have twin granddaughters. At home, I have two dogs: Winnie the Shih Tzu and Buddy the Labrador mix, as well as a tortoiseshell cat named Annie.
